Family Time at the Farmers' Market

Would you like to visit a place where you can get fresh air, fresh foods, and make some enjoyable family memories? Look no further than the farmers’ market. At the market, you can enjoy a selection of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Many markets even offer other healthy options, such as herbs, whole grain breads, and eggs.

Make your family visit to the farmers’ market fun for all with these activities:
  • Create a scavenger hunt for your kids (or use this one!) This will allow them to explore new fruits and veggies and chat with a farmer to learn more about where their food comes from.
  • Have each family member pick out a fruit or veggie to have in a meal or snack that week. You can find great meal ideas from browsing the produce stands. Someone may choose a new food that everyone will love!
  • Ride a bike or walk if your local farmers’ market is nearby. When you get there, take a few laps around to get some extra steps in!
  • Some farmers’ markets have live music and other fun “extras” throughout the season. Check if your market has a website or social media page where they post special upcoming events or attractions, or reach out to the market manager.

Have fun with your family during this farmers’ market season!
